Women who are professionally engaged in the visual arts (not artists), and who have built up a certain acknowledged position, can become members.
In order to arrive at a well-balanced group the ballot committee has drawn up a profile. Eight professional groups are distinguished within the visual arts: museums, foundations, media, education, gallery holders, collectors, corporate collections and freelancers.
Each professional group can comprise a maximum of 25 persons. Apart from this, the most important criteria are the degree of experience and recognition in the field with regard to prominence and professionalism. But young, promising women are also encouraged to become members.
The contribution amounts, in principle, to €175 per year, with an additional once-only registration fee of €50. Should the level of the contribution prove problematic, then in consultation with the treasurer, Marjan Scharloo, a payment agreement can be arranged. Members can resign their membership no later than two months before the end of the year.
